Aoaoina le gagana Samoa i le faletusi Glen Innes.

Gagana Samoa from Aoga A Le Teuila preschool on Vimeo.

The Vasega go to Glen Innes Library every Friday.  During Samoan language week they listened to a well known Samoan myth called, Sina and Tuna.  At the end of the story the vasega children stood up and sang a song about the story.  Later, we sang 'Savalivali means go for a walk' then coloured in some pictures of flowers (aute).  Malo lava tamaiiti!  Tuu mau lou measina.

Fa'afetai Agnes Stewart

Lealofi and Agnes
The late Agnes Stewart served as the co-ordinator in the Aoga a le Teuila during the late 1990's and early 2000's.  She was the back bone of the Aoga.  A strong minded and determined Samoan woman who stood for Education and her Samoan culture.  Her contribution to education began in Samoa as head mistress of Samoa College then later continuing teaching in New Zealand and then the Aoga a le Teuila.  Fa'afetai tele lava Agnes, for your service and contribution to the Aoga a le Teuila Preschool and the community.

When a child turns 5 they graduate from preschool and prepare for Primary School.  Here is a photo of Eden-Rose on her graduation day, looking so proud in her graduation gown and holding her certificate. Eden started at the Aoga at 8 months old and is now at Pt England Primary School.  Keep working hard Eden!
